Handling at the waterside
The almost dust-free loading of
sea-going vessels with grain is carried out by two loading
systems at the Rethe-Ströh
quay (Ströh operating unit).
Loading capacity can be as much as 22,000
tons in a day. Working in two shifts, our guaranteed
loading rate of sea-going vessels
is 10,000 tons per day.
Our loaders are equipped with patented
state-of-the-art carrier head systems, so that we have
no difficulty in complying with the enhanced requirements
of environmental protection for the avoidance of atmospheric
pollution.
The unloading of seagoing vessels,
inland waterway ships and coasters takes place at the
Rethe-Ströh quay,
using up to three discharging systems. When working in
three shifts, the discharge rate can be as much as 12,000
tons.
Since the start of 2000 we have also been operating a
grab system specially designed for the unloading of inland
waterway ships. This belongs to our Rethe operating unit.
The discharge rate of the grab is around 300 tons per hour.
When there is demand for it, the discharge rate can be
enhanced even further by combining the system with two
additional pneumatically powered discharge units.
